Welcome
I'm Paris, an artist passionate about painting, modeling, photography and exploring creative mediums. I have always been a creative person as long as I can remember, taking an art class in elementary school and choosing it as my elective through out my middle school and high school. I continued my creativity drawing and painting in my free time throughout the years as a way to escape, capture and display the world as I see it. I continue to evolve my passion for art and creativity on larger canvas' exploring different techniques and mediums.
My Story
Hello my name is Paris Bellil. Thank you for taking the time to explore my art! It is my hope that my art will leave you with the inspiration that life is a journey of self-discovery, and no matter what life brings, you can always live above.
I love being creative and experimental, I always have been into art and the creative process. As a child, I had a lot of exposure to art and science museums with my Grandmother. At home, I would constantly find a new craft or activity to get into. From painting, to sewing, to patters, to crocheting, to designing clothes, among other expressions. When I am in my creative process, I find that it is a time to connect with myself and release emotions or feelings that don’t serve me. It is also as a way to connect with a moment, a place or energy. I would find it was a way to keep my hands busy and my mind occupied, almost as if time stops and reality doesn’t exist. As I got older, I became a risk taker, a curious and adventurous type. At that time, I was always moving around the East coast, getting to know and explore big cities. I would keep a small sketchbook in my back pack as I would go about my day, stopping to sketch the people and places around me.
After a few years of living in Miami - both working and partying hard, I got into more artistic activities in my free time. I had made some very creative friends that loved making their art. I would be a muse to a few of them as I collaborated as a model to videos, photos and paintings. Admiring their process, I spent some time with them in their studios watching their techniques, while at the same time experimenting and creating my own art along side them. I had been dancing for a few years and was always fascinated and inspired by the story and emotion that dancing can exuded by the human body portraying confidence, power, freedom and desire. Towards the end of my Miami experience, I starting painting on canvas more.
A lot of the time, I did abstract impressions of people, moods, and vibes. A good friend of mine who was a photographer I had collaborated with for a few projects had asked me if I ever thought of modeling, and suggested we do a fashion shoot as he would send the photos to his friend in NYC who was a model manager. I agreed and decided to do it. I was quite blown away by the photos when they were done. When we heard back from his friend from New York she was thrilled with the photos and wanted me to move to New York City to sign with an agency. I was so excited for this opportunity.
I moved to New York City almost immediately after getting this opportunity, and was so excited to explore and create the next chapter my life there. I wanted to make everyone proud of my work and be the best that I could be. I signed with one of the top agencies in NYC and started developing my portfolio. I loved modeling so much, as it is an art in and of itself, combining expression, composure and dance.
I take a lot of inspiration from my modeling photos, using myself as my own source of inspiration. It was only after a traumatic back injury that sent me into a downward spiral, affecting both my career and my mental health, that I began to lean towards my art as a way to not only express myself, but also remind myself that there is joy and passion in life. This helped to revive my soul and bring me back to a place of normalcy in life.
